Switching to LEDs is equivalent to taking several million cars off the roads
Why it's important
• LEDs use up to 85 percent less energy incandescents, and can last up to 25 years
• The six billion screw-in sockets in US homes still have 1/3 to 1/2 wasteful incandescent bulbs
• If every US home switched those wasteful bulbs over to LEDs at once = eliminating emissions from about seven million cars
